Gansu Grand Theater

The Gansu Grand Theatre is designed primarily to cater to large-scale performances, including dance, music, and drama. Additionally, it is equipped to host various government conferences as well as international and business meetings. It currently stands as the largest and most comprehensive venue in Gansu Province, boasting state-of-the-art facilities and the highest level of intelligent building technology for both entertainment and conference purposes. The Gansu Grand Theatre and Conference Center has a total floor area of 33,000 square meters, spanning three underground levels and four above-ground levels. The facility includes a 1,500-seat theater and auditorium, a 300-seat theater-style lecture hall, a 120-seat international conference hall, 20 meeting rooms accommodating 50-200 individuals each, as well as press briefing rooms, VIP lounges, and meeting facilities, capable of accommodating 3,000 people for performances and conferences simultaneously.

The audio amplification system of the Gansu Grand Theatre (comprising theater, conference, and public broadcasting systems) adopts the Q-SYS network audio processing platform by QSC as its core. This integration achieves networked transmission, centralized processing and management, unmanned operation, intelligent monitoring, and remote control of all audio systems.

The Core mainframe utilizes a novel central processing architecture, providing processing power far surpassing traditional DSP chip-based audio processing systems. This efficiency is the reason why only one Q-SYS Core digital audio core processor is needed to fulfill all local audio system processing functions in such a large-scale venue combining performance and conference facilities.

To enhance the reliability of the audio system, designers implemented a hot backup feature for the Core audio processing mainframe. This involves two Core mainframes operating simultaneously on the network, acting as mutual backups with real-time synchronization. The Q-LAN audio network also employs a dual-switch, dual-network backup system to prevent audio interruptions in case of network failure. Backup I/O Frames are installed in critical locations such as the main theater and lecture hall, ensuring automatic switchover in the event of a failure.

The implementation of the Q-SYS network audio system has elevated the level of intelligence in the Gansu Grand Theatre and Conference Center's weak electrical system. This resolves historical challenges in achieving intelligent control of audio systems (conference, amplification, and public broadcasting) within large-scale building structures.
