The 400-seat multi-functional hall in the new CCTV building in Beijing has adopted a QSC KLA active line array system. With its natural, outstanding linguistic expressiveness, high reliability, and elegant design, a total of 10 KLA line array speakers have been installed in the multi-functional hall, forming an ST sound reinforcement system to meet the venue's coverage requirements. Eight KLA12 speakers are used as the main reinforcement speakers, while two single 18-inch KLA181 speakers serve as low-frequency supplementary reinforcement speakers. These two speakers are designed in a mobile format to meet the versatile sound reinforcement needs of the hall.

The majestic and spectacular new CCTV building features a stylish and eye-catching striped glass layout on its surface, and the innovative architectural design brings a unique visual effect. However, for this hall, it is evidently a disadvantage as the 400-seat hall is located on the angular side of the building's main body. The irregular space, combined with glass elements, poses a considerable challenge for speaker layout, making the precise directional capability of the speakers a necessary factor. QSC's KLA active line array system boasts precise vertical angle coverage capability, enabling accurate control of sound coverage. The test results after completion align with previous predictions; sound is accurately controlled beyond the glass walls, with clear audio, precise sound positioning, fully meeting the requirements for sound reinforcement and live recording. While audio artists need to render sound to express their understanding of audio, television program recordings require an authentic sound expression. The KLA's flat frequency response characteristics contribute to a genuine audio experience.

In addition, CCTV has special requirements for the appearance of the sound system, aiming to align with CCTV's consistent aesthetic standards and the fashionable overall style of the new building. For this reason, the project deliberately chose white KLA speakers, transforming the two line array speakers in the hall from bulky equipment into decorative elements. The entire hall appears modern, elegant, and stylish.
