After years of refinement, a new era of luxury has finally been infused into the Shanghai hotel scene. Recently, the Shanghai MGM Grand Hotel on the west bank officially opened its doors. This marks the debut of the first urban hotel in mainland China under the MGM Grand Hotel Group, with its iconic golden lion at the entrance quickly becoming a new landmark in this revitalized artistic enclave on the west bank. PCI has provided a comprehensive audio and control system solution for this establishment.

In this project, the Q-SYS Core 110F network processor is responsible for routing the background music in all areas of the hotel and handling audio processing in meeting rooms. To deliver a high-quality and professional video conferencing experience, PCI engineers equipped the meeting rooms with Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2, a ceiling-mounted array microphone for capturing sound. Additionally, TSC series network touchscreens were installed for intuitive control of meeting functions, simplifying the process and adding a touch of technology.

On the third floor banquet hall, PCI engineers configured the more powerful Q-SYS Core 510i (with redundant systems) to provide a robust audio and control system for the hall. Furthermore, a configurable partition mode was specifically implemented for the banquet hall, allowing flexible control based on the size of the space. This undoubtedly enhances the versatility of the banquet hall, making it suitable for a variety of events. Simultaneously, it increases the utility of the banquet hall by dividing it into multiple areas for hosting different activities simultaneously.

Throughout the hotel, Q-SYS MP-A series amplifiers, in conjunction with GXD series amplifiers, ensure reliable audio support. To further enhance the user experience, Q-SYS TSC series network touchscreens were strategically placed in public areas and meeting rooms to control functions such as background music and conferences.

The Shanghai MGM Grand Hotel exclusively utilizes Q-SYS speakers, including AC-C6T dual-frequency in-ceiling speakers, AC-C4T dual-frequency in-ceiling speakers, AD-C81Tw sub-ceiling low-frequency speakers, AD-C821 sub-ceiling low-frequency speakers, AD-C1200 high-power in-ceiling speakers, AD-S6T dual-frequency wall-mounted speakers, K8.2 active speakers, K12.2 active speakers, and KS112 ultra-portable active subwoofers. Q-SYS speakers, renowned for their outstanding sound quality and stable reliability, perfectly cover the hotel's public areas, guest rooms, swimming pool, spa, banquet hall, meeting rooms, and other spaces. This achieves a high-resolution, latency-free interconnected audio system throughout the entire building.

Moreover, the system features functions such as viewing system status information, controlling third-party devices, monitoring on-site layout usage, configuring room partitioning modes, and providing an intuitive graphical user interface. These functionalities greatly contribute to the flexibility and ease of daily operation of the system.

The project has been successfully delivered and put into operation. The straightforward control system and robust system functionality have garnered unanimous praise from the owner, while the exceptional sound quality adds a vibrant touch to this luxurious hotel.
