The Jiangsu Grand Theater, located in the Hexi New Town of Nanjing City, takes the shape of a "water droplet" and spans approximately 270,000 square meters. It is a cultural complex that integrates performance management, production of theatrical works, artistic exchange, art popularization, and education. The complex houses cultural and artistic facilities such as an opera house, a concert hall, a theater, and a variety hall. PCI Company provided a comprehensive audio and control system solution for the Jiangsu Grand Theater's Water Droplet Cinema.

Comprising one panoramic sound cinema and five traditional cinemas, the Water Droplet Cinema is a crucial part of the modernized grand theater, requiring exceptionally high standards of quality. PCI engineers, in line with the owner's requirements, delivered a powerful and compliant audio and control system solution.

Following on-site inspections by PCI engineers, it was determined that the panoramic sound cinema could achieve a high-quality viewing experience using QSC speakers. The main speakers comprised SC-323C three-way speakers, with SB-1180 and SB-7218 speakers for the sub-bass, and multiple SR-1020 and SR-1030 speakers for surround sound. For amplification, the engineers opted for QSC's cinema star products, the DPA4.2 and DPA4.3 digital amplifiers, balancing high-quality sound reproduction with reduced construction costs.

In the traditional cinemas, the audio systems also utilized QSC products: SC-1150 two-way speakers and SC-2150 three-way speakers as main speakers, SB-5218 and SB-7218 sub-bass speakers, and SR-8101 for surround sound. Amplification in these spaces included the combination of DCA1222 two-channel amplifiers, DCA1644, and DCA1824, achieving high-quality sound while maintaining cost control. In terms of processing, the QSC DPM cinema digital processor, renowned for its robust processing capabilities and high stability, was an obvious choice, earning the trust of numerous owners and being a top pick for large-scale cinema projects. Following professional tuning by PCI engineers, the cinema's sound quality exceeded the owner's expectations.

The PCI team successfully completed the Jiangsu Grand Theater's Water Droplet Cinema project, thanks to the powerful capabilities of the Q-SYS ecosystem and the excellent hardware products by QSC. With the support of a complete ecosystem and equipment, the tuning time was significantly reduced, and the project passed acceptance tests smoothly, ready for operational use.
